things to make out of clay

2. Shape the clay dough into an oval loaf of bread about 2.5 cm. Lightly press down the bread loaf to make the bottom flat.

3. Crumple up three small pieces of aluminum foil into thin rough skin snakes. Try to make each foil piece as wrinkly as possible.

4.  Now press these wrinkly crumpled aluminum foil in a row on the top of the loaf to give realistic look to our polymer clay goof project.

5. Using a sharp knife tool, scrape the yellow pastel chalk in form of powder into a small container or a piece of paper.

6. With the help of a clean brush, brush the yellow chalk all over the bread. be careful, don’t let the chalk powder get under the foil.

7. Now repeat the scraping process with red-brown pastel chalk and brush it on the top and bottom of the polymer clay loaf, again not letting it under the foil.

8. Finish the dusting a little bit of corn-starch on top before baking. After this remove the aluminium foil strips.

9. Bake the piece at 110 degrees for 10 minutes.

10. UV resin or varnish can be done if one loves the shining effect on polymer clay loaf or leave it unglazed.

Pancakes

Materials Required: -

Translucent Polymer Clay
Beige Polymer Clay
Red Brown Clay
Light Yellow Clay
Liquid Polymer Clay
Red Brown Chalk Pastel

2. Make a mixture of three parts beige and one-part red brown polymer clay. With this mixed clay, make a flat circle slightly smaller in diameter than the pancakes. Make one circle for each pancake.

3. Now place the flat circle onto your pancakes.

4. With a gentle hand or a silicon brush smooth the edges of your clay pancakes to make the pieces look like tasty yummy browned pancakes.

5. Stack the pancakes together slightly off center.

6. Mix the light yellow clay with translucent clay in equal ratios to make your butter. Now, create a small square and place the square on top of the pancakes.

7. Squeeze some liquid polymer clay into a plate. with the help of a blade, scrape some red brown chalk pastel into the liquid clay.

8. Mix the liquid clay and chalk until so there are no lumps left in the liquid. using the mixing tool, dizzle the mixture onto the pancakes.Allow some of the syrup to drip down the sides of the pancakes to make it look more realistic.

9. Bake the polymer clay pancake pieces at 110 degrees for 15 minutes. once it has cooled, use a small paintbrush to paint glaze onto the syrup. Glazing the honey will make the polymer clay project realistic.

Cinnamon Roll

Material Required: -

Beige Polymer Clay
Dark Brown Polymer Clay
Liquid Polymer Clay
Red Brown Chalk Pastel
Toothpick
Mixing Tool
Blade
Clay Roller
Glass Container
Tile
Resin And Paint Brush
Jump Ring

The Way: -

1. Roll a thin long sheet of beige color polymer clay about 6.4 cm long and 1.3 cm wide after conditioning the clay properly.

2. Flatten the sheet slightly with the acrylic roller. Try to avoid the air bubble.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the dark brown polymer clay, but make this sheet slightly narrower and shorter than the beige color clay sheet. Now gently and carefully lay the dark brown clay sheet on top of the beige clay sheet and press them to each other. ( optional: you can use clay glue between the sheet to stick them )

4. Start rolling from one end of sandwiched polymer clay sheet and roll up the clay strips with the dark brown in the center.

5. Roll until the piece is as per your desired size, then cut off any extra clay at the end.

6. Using a blade tool, scrape some red-brown chalk pastel into a plate. Using a soft paintbrush dust the bottom and top of the bun to make it look freshly baked.

7. Create the frosting using liquid polymer clay and a pinch of white clay to thicken it up. This mixture should be liquid enough that one can drizzle it, but thick enough that it won't run completely off the side of the roll.

8. To apply the frosting, use a mixing tool to drizzle the liquid clay mixture onto the beige half of the roll. Follow the line of the beige polymer clay around the roll, starting from the center.

9. Make it look like the frosting is dipping off the roll by maneuvering the frosting down with a toothpick.

10. Bake the piece at 100 degrees for 10 minutes. when it has cooled off,  either glaze the frosting or it unglazed. I preferred the unglazed yummy cinnamon roll necklace.

Strawberry Ice Cream Cone

Material Needed: -

Light Pink, Dark Pink Beige Clay
Translucent Clay
Scrap Clay
Red Brown Chalk Pastel
Aluminum Foil
Parchment Paper Soft Paintbrush
Roller
Clade
Tile

The Way: -

1. Roll the conditioned dark pink polymer clay into a flat sheet about the size of a thumb. No need to be specific in size. Place this onto the oven for 5 minutes.

2. Once the polymer clay has cooled enough that you can handle it, slice off small chunks from the baked clay in all different sizes(no need to have perfect edges ). These will be the strawberry chunks.

3. Knead the light pink clay until it is soft ( means conditioned the polymer clay. Add in the strawberry chunks and mix until they are evenly distributed. As you work the clay, notice that when you fold the clay, it creates a cranky texture. If it does not, flatter the clay and place it between two pieces of plain white paper to leach out some of the plasticizers.

4. Round out the ice cream with the crackled texture on the top to create a ball. Place the ball on work surface and use a blade tool to scrape down the sides of the ball to add more texture.

5. Crumple up a small piece of aluminum foil and press perpendicular lines along the cracks on the top.

6. Flatten the scrap clay into a sheet to make a mold for the cone.

7. Use any  flat item to impress parallel lines in the clay . I would love to  use a piece of cardstock, thin cardboard to thin plastic to make the lines. Make sure they should be clean and smooth.

8. Use the same flat item to impress lines in the opposite direction, thereby making a grid. bake the mold for 5 -10 minutes.

9. Dust the mold with some cornstarch and flatten the beige clay into the mold in a rounded triangle shape.

10. Remove the clay from the mold and roll it into a cone shape. if the cone seems too large for our ice  cream, flatter they clay out again and cut off a bit from the sides.

11. Use a blade tool to scrape off some red-brown pastel. Brush it onto the cone with a soft paintbrush. Try to keep the color on the ridges of the cone. This will make the cone look more realistic.

12. Place the ice cream onto the top of the cone and press down lightly to secure. Fold a piece of parchment paper according to style and place the ice cream cone in the folds to prop up while baking. bake the ice cream at 110 degrees for 15 minutes.

Food made from polymer clay can be as earrings, buttons or cute pendants or keychains, or toys, for example, doll food for a doll house. Polymer clay food can be used to decorate many objects as well, totally depending on your creativity.  I love to have this food for bracelets and keychains.
